Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) Iraq – Kirkuk, Daquq – Rizgari village Previous Next SEDO received a request from Daquq Mayor, addressing community need in Rizgari village,it is requesting the restoration of the elevated LVWT tank that utilize about 270 HHHs. He also attached BoQ prepared by DoW. It requested to rehabilitate a large water tank used as water storage for Rizgari village in Daquq. This tank is filled by a borehole close to the tank, and then the beneficiaries get water from the tank. There is another artesian well nearby(2nd borehole) assist and support in case the water being shallow in the 1st artesian, but it does not work, it needs maintenance and rehabilitation. SEDO Coordinated with CMU and get approval to start the implementation of this activity instead of rehabilitating two water networks in ToozKhormatu and Latifiyah. Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) Iraq – Kirkuk (Daquq) and Anbar (Rutbah) SEDO contacted with Directorate of Water (DoW) in Daquq and Rutbah in order to nominate WTPs and daily workers that they need for water quality tests and train the daily worker. Indeed, each DoW nominated WTPs and daily workers who would receive training on the use of water testing devices, Daquq nominated 5 persons and Rutbah nominated 6 persons. after identifying the trainees, SEDO gave one-day training sessions for each location, in both target areas, the trainer gets training on how to use 4 water devices and fill the daily quality test. the devices were (Chlorine devices, Turbidity devices, T.D.S. and PH devices with kits for use in daily tests). A pre-post test was conducted for the trainees, which was analysed and included in this report. Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) Iraq – Kirkuk (City center) In December of 2021, SEDO conducted an evaluation to find all the health centers that cover the targeted informal settlements areas in order to coordinate these HCs and identify the number of diarrhea cases for each HCs. The directors of HCs refused to cooperate with us until obtaining approval from the MoH. For that SEDO started coordination with MoH to get formal approval, in March 2022, SEDO got the approval from MoH and then started coordinating with DoH in Kirkuk to deliver (10,000) water purification tablets and brochures to distribute to target HCs that they register the highest number of diarrhea cases. SEDO designed and delivered brochures to DoH in order to distribute these brochures to beneficiaries to know how to use these tablets. Also, SEDO designed and delivered distribution list forms, then DoH will deliver these forms to HCs in order to register the beneficiaries who will get these tablets and brochures.
